Hi I'm Lorillee Paras!
I earned my B.A. in Television, Film, and Media Studies with a minor in Entertainment Marketing from California State University, Los Angeles. I am a SoCal–based storyteller and production professional with over seven years of experience across commercial/advertising productions, films, live events, advocacy and community-centered media initiatives.
I began my career as a freelance Office and Set Production Assistant in the commercial and advertising industry, where I developed experience in production coordination, logistics, creative development, and on-set operations across narrative, branded, documentary, and digital media projects. My background in production support has shaped my collaborative approach to storytelling and strengthened my commitment to creating meaningful, community-centered work.
In addition to my work in physical production, I've collaborated with numerous Los Angeles–based nonprofits and arts organizations through event production, producing, and community engagement initiatives. My work spans into film festivals, advocacy campaigns, XR showcases, and independent media projects focused on uplifting underrepresented voices and fostering cultural dialogue.
In 2024, I expanded my work into media advocacy and cultural strategy as Strategy and Development Lead at Mahalaya SF, a volunteer-run publication centering Filipino and Filipino American voices through community-centered journalism and solidarity reporting.
My work is rooted in uplifting BIPOC storytellers and communities by centering voices both behind and in front of the camera. Through inclusive collaboration and intentional storytelling, I aim to create meaningful stories that deepen understanding, inspire action, and challenge gatekeeping in the film industry.
Current Projects & Productions (Updated October 2025)
I’m currently focused on producing two projects. These projects reflect my ongoing commitment to supporting storytellers and creatives in crafting narratives that not only captivate audiences, but to produce meaningful storytelling, bridge understanding, spark dialogue, and move people toward action.
1. LEAN INTO FEAR/ Feature Documentary (Symone Fairchild, Director) - Pre-Production
2. The Beings in the Shadows/Short Film (Caroline Buendia, Writer/Director) - Pre-Production
Stay tuned for updates!
